Three great shows from American Public Media have joined the Midroll roster. Like many popular public radio programs they have built large and loyal audiences as podcasts, too.
The Splendid Table is a wildly popular and long-running weekly celebration of food, and its ability to touch the lives and feed the souls of everyone. Host Lynne Rossetto Kasper is an acclaimed food writer and cooking teacher who started The Splendid Table as “the radio program for people who love to eat.” The show has won two James Beard Foundation Awards for Best National Radio Show on Food, a Gracie Allen Award for Best Syndicated Talk Show, and four Clarion Awards from Women in Communication.
The Dinner Party Download brings together food with culture, featuring artists from film, television, music and books engaged in the art of witty dinner conversation. It’s “public radio’s arts & leisure section.” In every episode you’ll learn a joke; bone up on an odd bit of history and then wash it down with a themed cocktail recipe; meet artists of note; have your burning etiquette questions answered; savor an emerging food trend; and hear your new favorite song.
Wits is the breakout new public radio comedy program, bringing together improv, sketch comedy, conversation and music. On each live episode host John Moe brings world-class comedians, actors and musicians to the stage of the Fitzgerald Theater in Minneapolis. Recent guests include Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Anna Kendrick, Neko Case, Patton Oswalt and Aimee Mann.
