Internet advertising revenues hit an all-time high for a first quarter this year, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau. Those revenues were $11.6 billion, 19% more than the same quarter in 2013.
Podcast ads are a growing part of this picture. The report emphasizes the growth of mobile, where podcasts are very much at home.
But the numbers for podcasting reflect this trend, too. Midroll Media saw a 3x increase in revenue during that same period. That’s because every quarter more advertisers are choosing podcast advertising, while more podcast hosts are realizing the value of working with platforms like ours.
And listeners pay attention. 64% of Midroll podcast listeners say they have bought a product or service after hearing about it in a podcast ad.
