Midroll Media expands with notable hires for marketing, finance and content

NEW YORK CITY – Leading podcast company Midroll Media has added three leaders to its growing team: an executive producer for its award-winning content group, its first-ever head of marketing and a new leader for its financial operations.

Amy Fitzgibbons joins Midroll as vice president of marketing, responsible for driving significant consumer growth and engagement for the leading podcast company. Fitzgibbons comes to Midroll from PhotoShelter, where she also served as vice president of marketing, leading the company’s customer acquisition and retention efforts, as well as social media and public relations. She also previously held various marketing roles at Sailthru and American Express OPEN. Fitzgibbons received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Ohio Wesleyan University and her Master of Business Administration from University of Michigan. She is based in New York City.

Laura Mayer joins as an executive producer for Midroll, responsible for the development, production and launch of new podcasts for the company’s comedy-focused Earwolf network as well as its Stitcher label, a podcast ecosystem that includes both ad-supported and premium lineups. Mayer joins the company from Panoply, where she launched dozens of shows on the podcast network and led the production of the first season of “Revisionist History.” Mayer started her career at WNYC, where she was an associate producer for “On The Media” and “Fishko Files.” Mayer received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She is based in New York City.

David Murray

Midroll also has hired David Murray as vice president of finance and strategy. Murray joins from The E.W. Scripps Company (NYSE: SSP), where he held the role of finance business partner and helped oversee the financial organization of Scripps’ local and national digital businesses. Murray received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from University of Kentucky. He is based in Cincinnati.
