Now, We Literally Have “The Best Show”

When Tom Scharpling’s cult-hit radio show The Best Show on WFMU left the airwaves and internet at the end of 2013, thousands of fans were crestfallen, waiting for a sign that Scharpling might return to the audio comedy format he had perfected. In December even the New York Times covered Scharpling’s plans to bring back the show.

Now fans like comedians Patton Oswalt and Eugene Mirman are rejoicing with the return of The Best Show as a weekly live stream and podcast. It’s three hours of comedy, with Scharpling fielding calls from real listeners along with a cast of characters conjured up by his inimitable partner-in-crime, Superchunk and The Mountain Goats drummer Jon Wurster. The AV Club says, “Scharpling’s independent revival of The Best Show continues to thrive off his signature voice.”

The Best Show broadcasts live every Tuesday at 9 PM ET, and the podcast releases the following day.

It has an enormous following that patiently waited a year, then loyally came back to listen when The Best Show had its internet homecoming. Now is a great time to book your ad campaign before it fills up. Contact us today to learn more.
