“Every brand is hilarious lately,” is what journalist T.L. Stanley observes in a recent Mashable article about how more brands are working with comedians to create advertising and longer-form content.
Stanley notes how companies are also giving comedians a looser leash to create edgy, shareable stuff, citing Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the Tim and Eric directed GE lightbulb commercial starring Jeff Goldblum, and President Obama’s guest stint on Between Two Ferns, hosted by Zach Galifianakis and written by Scott Aukerman and B.J. Porter.
We’re glad to see broader recognition for the power of great comedy, since that’s what Earwolf and Midroll are built on. Every week, Earwolf hosts–like Two Ferns’ Scott Aukerman, host of Comedy Bang! Bang!–work their special alchemy to create comedy gold in podcast form. Every ad read is surrounded by hilarity, which rubs off on plenty of the ads themselves. That’s because the hosts put their own unique spin on every one.

But this is by no means limited to Earwolf–Midroll has an amazing lineup of funny podcasts. There are interview shows like Nerdist and WTF, film-focused ’casts Doug Loves Movies and How Did This Get Made?, variety shows like Not Too Deep with Grace Helbig, and that doesn’t even scratch the surface.
Advertisers looking to embrace comedy need look no further than podcasts. Contact us today to put it to work for your brand or product.
A big hat-tip goes to Allyson Marino, Midroll’s Director of West Coast Sales, for bringing the Mashable article to my attention.
